Glossybox December 2014 Review

My December Glossybox finally arrived. This is one of my most favorite subscriptions and I have gotten to know some great brands and products because of it. The Glossybox subscription is $21.00 if you do the month-to-month option. You can save some money if you choose to prepay for 6 months or a year.  You can get your own box here.

Here is my box for December 2014.

Packaging is always great with Glossybox. It's as if I got a real present from someone every month. This month's packaging theme was Christmas.

Here is the inside of the box:

I really like this nail polish brand and this is the perfect season for some sparkle in your nails. I'm looking forward to testing it.

Toni & Guy Leave In Conditioner 3.3 fl oz - full size ($9.19)
This conditioner addresses my hair issue - frizz control. I can't wait to test it. I have not heard of this brand before. There are so many hair products out there and I'm always a little overwhelmed when it comes to choosing just one.

I really like BellaPiere and I love this shade of the lipstick. It's perfect for a night out. I have a lot of everyday shades of lipsticks but needed something special and this is just great.

Nuxe Masque Creme 50ml - full size ($32.00)
I'm really excited to try this mask. My skin is always so dry in winter and I always need products that work well. Hopefully this works.

Rituals Cosmetics Miracle Scrub 2.5 fl oz - full size ($17.00)
Another amazing product for winter problems. It smells really great and promises to soften your skin with ginkgo biloba.

This was an amazing box. I really loved everything and I thought I got a great deal for the $21.00 I paid. The value of the box came up to $86.00.

Bijoux Box Black Friday Grab Bag

This is my first experience with Bijoux Box. I'm actually not a subscriber yet, although I have been thinking of signing up for their monthly jewelry delivery. I really liked the statement necklaces I have seen featured in blogs and on Instagram. Before I commit to the subscription I wanted to check the quality of the pieces and Black Friday Grab Bag was the best way to do it. The Grab Bag was $25.00 and I got 5 randomly picked pieces.

This is what I got:

I really like the purple stretch bracelet and the honeycomb earrings. The statement necklace is light, which is good because I was worried it would be too heavy judging by the look of it. I'm not sure if I can pull off the colors but I'll give it a try. I think it will have to wait until Spring/Summer. The chain pendant necklace will be nice to wear with sweaters and I think the black bracelet will look good with it too. I think this convinced me to try the Bijoux Box subscription.

Nadine West December 2014

I really look forward to Nadine West deliveries every month. It's a very unique way to shop and a slightly different subscription service than most of the services out there. This is my third Nadine West package. What I really like about Nadine West is that there is no upfront cost for you to get the box. Each month you get one top and two pieces of jewelry. You can try it on and see what you'd like to keep. You keep what you like and send the rest back in the same envelope with the return label created.

Here are the items I received this month.

Aztec Stripes Cardi
 Cost to keep $23.49
Still debating but thinking of Returning
This cardi is very nice and the Aztec sleeves give it a unique look. I like how it drapes in front. However, I recently went on an Aztec binge and have too many pieces with this theme. I think I might be returning this one. Just can't justifying yet another Aztec pint in my wardrobe.

Once Upon a Chain Necklace
Cost to keep $24.99
Returning
I just don't wear chains like this. It's just not my style.

My Little Pretties Purple Studs
Cost to keep $9.99
Keeping
These are really cute to wear every day for work. They have a purple in the middle, which did not photograph well.

Final verdict: Not the best month for me. I will be keeping only the earrings. Looking forward to next month.

Boodlebox January 2015

My daughter was really excited to get her January Boodlebox today. The Boodlebox subscription is $19.00 if you subscibe for at least 3 months or $24.99 if you just get one month. I signed up for the whole year to get the one month free.

This month's theme is the New Year

Jungle Beat Diary  ($9.00) - It's a cute diary with a lock and key. There is never enough of these in my house.

Glitter Gel Pen Set ($9.49) - These go great with the diary and I'm sure will be used a lot. My daughter got a bunch of glitter pens for Christmas, but you can never have enough colored gen pens.

Ciate Caviar Nail Pearls Mini ($8.00) -My daughter is all about nail art nowadays and keeps looking for interesting nail designs online. I'm sure they will use these fun glitter pearls and create some interesting nail designs.

Glitter No-slip Double Headband ($9.00 ) - This is really cute glitter headband. It's really cool that it's adjustable and can fit many head sizes.

Dazzling Diamond Pocket Bac & Holder ($5.25) - Enough said, you can never have too many of these. My daughter loves the ones from Bath and Body Works too and has a large collection of them.

Glam Metallic Temporary Tatoos ($12.00) - These are fun and really fit the theme.

The total value of the box is about $54. Not the best value I have seen lately, but I spent only $20 on it, so I definitely got my money's worth.  My daughter is already anticipating the next Boodlebox delivery.

Golden Tote November

Now let's talk about Golden Tote, which has pretty quickly become my obsession. Golden Tote offers unique shopping experience and an element of surprise. It's not really a subscription service because you do need to go in every month and place your order. There are two main types of totes: $49 tote in which you get one chose item and one to two surprise items and $149 tote, in which you choose two items and the GT stylist picks 4 surprise items based on your style preferences in your style profile. The sales start on first business day of the month and it can be a real frenzy because thousands of GT customers aka Goldies flock the website to pick the chosen items for their totes. You can also get a $99 all surprise tote, in which you get 4 surprise items only and no chosen items.

November was the third month with Golden Tote for me. I ordered one large tote and was very happy with it. I liked most of the clothes they picked for me. In fact, after seeing all the great clothes other Goldies were receiving I ordered another large tote, but it has not arrived yet.

Here are is November Tote 1. My first chosen item:

Priddy by Puella Plaid Dress - This is not the best picture and does not show the shape of the dress very well. The dress is fitted on top and flares out at the hip. I think it's pretty flattering cut.  I wish you could show in pictures how soft this dress is. When I put it on it felt so comfortable. I like the length of the dress too. I always look for dresses I can wear to work and I find many Golden Tote dresses to be on the shorter side. This one was perfect and I cannot wait to wear it. I will probably style it with tights and booties.

Second chosen item:

Just Black Coated Skinny jeans - These jeans are amazing! I ordered my regular jean size and they fit well. It's always a gamble ordering jeans online, but I got lucky with these. The coating is only in front which makes the look somewhat unique and cool. They are insanely comfortable too similarly to the boyfriend jeans I got by the same brand from the Facebook Golden Tote trading group. Even though I can't wear jeans to work, I'm sure I will wear these a lot on my days off.

Now on to the surprised items:

Les Lis paisley top - This top is really soft. I don't mind the pattern at all, but I felt that the line where the pattern changes felt on an awkward place on my chest. I wish it was a little lower. I am still undecided if I want to keep it. I like how comfortable it is, so if I don't find anyone who is desperately looking for it, I will end up keeping it.

Lumiere navy blue top with polka dots-  I actually saw some spoiler pictures on Facebook for November surprise items and I saw a polka dot pattern in there. I'm crazy about polka dots, so I requested the top in my comments when I was ordering. My stylist took my comments into the account and sent me this beautiful blouse. I really love it!

Priddy retro print dress - This dress came in two patterns this month and I actually liked them both. I was hoping to get one in my tote. The pictures do not really show the pattern very well. The dress is amazingly soft and comfortable. It also has great length for work. I'm going to wear it this winter with some boots and sweaters.

Mak B black Shrug - I could not figure out how to wear it and I felt like I could not pull off a shrug like this. Also, I have another shrug from previous months I have yet to wear, so I traded this one in the Facebook Golden Tote trading group.

Overall I'm really happy with my November tote. After three months of Golden Tote'ing I completely revamped my closet and got rid of a lot of old clothes to make room for more because I know that I will have really hard time not ordering another tote again. Once I have a chance to wear the clothes I received, I will post pictures of how they all looked.

Nadine West November 2014

This is my second Nadine West delivery. I as really excited to get the pink pouch fool of goodies.
Nadine West has quite unique model - there is no upfront cost for you to get the box. Each month you get one top and two pieces of jewelry. You can try it on and see what you'd like to keep. You keep what you like and send the rest back in the same envelope with the return label created.

Here are the items I received this month.

Wine-colored striped top
 Cost to keep $18.49
Returning
I had a lot of back and forth with this top. At first I thought that it was no way going to fit me as it looked small. I tried it on and it looked nice and I wanted to keep it, but then I looked at pictures of myself wearing and saw that it looks really strange on my chest (the lines were kind of positioned awkwardly on me), so I decided to return this one.

J.Crew Green on Gold Necklace
Cost to keep $21.99
Keeping
I absolutely love J.Crew and its jewelry. I was really happy to see this in my box. Definitely keeper.
Here is a close-up of the necklace.

Ribbons and Bows studs
Cost to keep $4.99
Keeping
These are really pretty but too small to take a good picture. They are cute golden ribbons and can be worn on everyday basis.

I was really happy with this months box. Originally I wanted to keep everything but I ended up keeping 2 out of 3 items, which is still great.

Wantable Intimates November 2014

My second delivery of Wantable Intimates box was even better than the first one. Wantable recently revamped their Intimates box and now offer fewer but better quality items, which to me sounds like a great idea. I know some people have an issue with getting fewer items but I'd rather get better quality ones than a ton of average items. Wantable offers 4 different types of boxes - Accessories, Intimates, Makeup and recently introduced Fitness. Here are the goodies I received in my second Wantable Intimates box :

Dreamwave Pajama Drama - Romper ($28.00 according to Wantable, but I found one for $17.50 here). Well this is something way out of my comfort zone and fits a little snug on me. I gave it to my 11-year-old daughter and she likes it. It's much more age-appropriate for her.

Modal Black Cami ($18.00) - I absolutely loooooove this cami. It's probably my favorite item from the box. I have a lot of simple black camis but this one has a wrap-like front. I will wear this a lot with cardigans on top.

This is what it looks on.

Last item was Nouveau polka dot pajama set ($39.99 price tag but I found them for $22.00 at Amazon ). This set is really cute and comfortable. Unfortunately mine had a flaw and was not sewn correctly in the crotch area, nothing a needle and thread cannot fix. However I contacted the Wantable customer service and they sent me a replacement item, but I was still able to keep the pajamas. I was really impressed with the customer service speed and quality. Very happy customer.

This was my replacement - Embroidered Bow Front Hipster.

I was pretty happy with my November box. What I really like about Wantable is that not everyone gets exactly the same item and you can really customize it to fit our needs.

Boodlebox November 2012 Review

This is my daughter's second month with the Boodlebox. She was so excited to get this month's box that she did not even wait for me to come home and open it with her. The Boodlebox subscription is $19.00 if you subscibe for at least 3 months or $24.99 if you just get one month. I signed up for the whole year to get the one month free.

Here is this month's box:

She was so excited to get it and she absolutely loved everything in it.

Knit Boot Cuffs  ($19.00) - these are adorable and I have seen them everywhere lately. Now to get her some cool boots she can wear them with. I want to steal them from her.

Eco Tools Mini Essential Sent ($5.99) - Another thing I'm planning on stealing and she said it's her favorite from the entire box. I have some eco tools on my own and she has been stealing them from me, so now she can get her own set. Really nice.

Paper straws ($2.99) - these are in nice colors and my daughter's idol Bethany Motta apparently uses the paper straws too so I guess it's a plus.

Sunny Seeds ($5.95) - chocolate covered sunflower seeds. Yummy! Hence, if you notice in the picture the box is half empty because  by the time I got home from work she had gotten to it already. Perfect gift for a little chocoholic.

Leather wrap bracelet ($13.85) - Hmmmm I'm thinking of stealing it too. This is really cool bracelet. I thought it was a belt at first.

Physician's Formula Blush in Rosy Organics ($13.99) - I really like the brand and this blush is in natural shade, so it won't bee too outrageous for a 11-year -old.

Herbal Essences Shampoo and Conditioner ($2.00) -I happen to buy this for my daughter because she likes the brand a lot. This is going to be really useful for traveling.

The total value of the box is abut $60 - great deal for the $20 I spent. My daughter and I loved this box a lot and we liked it much more than last month's box. I'm sure she will be counting days to the next Boddlebox delivery.

Glossybox September 2014 Review

My September Glossybox came quite late. I actually received it in the first week of October. This is the longest subscription I have had and one of my most favorite. The Glossybox subscription is $21.00 if you do the month-to-month option. You can save some money if you choose to prepay for 6 months or a year.  You can get your own box here.

Here is my box for September 2014.

I always say that the Glossybox packaging is amazing. I already know what to expect, but I'm always pleasantly surprised when I open my box.

Here is the inside of the box:

Benefit They Are Real Mascara sample  ($10.00 estimated)
This is my favorite mascara ever and I won't get mad if it's included in every single box I subscribe to. I love the smaller size too, it's so easy to just throw it in every purse you own as a back up.

Vichy LiftActive Niut sample ($15.00 estimated)
I love getting high quality skin care products. I have heard a lot about Vichy but ever erally had a chance to try it, so here is my opportunity,

The sample is nice and big and will last for at least 2-3 washes. I'm excited to try it as I would probably never buy it for myself.

Essie Nail Polish  in Madison Ave-Hue ($8.50)
This was a total win as I love Essie nail polish and I like pink. This shade has a little glitter in it.

I think the shade is Authentic and it does not work for me at all. It looks like copper and I really hate it on me. It's a total bummer because I would have loved it in any other shade.

I thought this box was very nice although I wish the lip tar was different shade and that would make me love the box. My favorites were the nail polish, the Vichy cream and the mascara. I paid $21.00 for the box and got $66.5 worth of products. No the best value I have seen, but it's still good.

Boxycharm October 2014 Review

Boxycharm is one of my most favorite subscription boxes. I have been subscribing since July and there has not been a single month that I did not like. Boxycharm is the same price as Glossybox, but it focuses more on makeup, whereas Glossybox offers a wider range of beauty products.
What's best about Boxycharm is that for $21.00 per month you get FULL SIZE beauty products.

Here is a quick glance at my October box.

The theme this month, as you can suspect, was Bewitched and it revolves around Halloween.

Ouch! The price sticker on this product is a little high. I really hope this works well. It has good reviews on Amazon although not too many. As I get older I look for targeted skin products. I will be happy to try out this one.

I always look for good concealers and was happy to get this one. There is a lot of shades depending on your skin types and problem areas. I'm not sure what the silver concealer does, I'm curious and will have to find out. Some of the shades wont be used for everyday makeup but maybe can use it for Halloween?

Cult/Commerce Boxycharm Shady Collection Nail Polish (21.00) - Black and Dark Purple
I could not find a link to show the nail polish and I think it's Boxycharm exclusive item. I really don't like very dark nail polish, but i understand it goes with the theme. My daughter will certainly use it in her Halloween costume.

Be A Bombshell Eyeshadow ($14.00) in Mardi Grass shade
This is another item i may not be able to wear. This is to intensely purple. Another costume-worthy product. I guess my daughter's Halloween makeup stash will grow.

This is really fun pencil. I got the golden one and I will definitely use in to spice up my makeup routine. I have similar one in silver from another subscription and I was happy to get a golden one this time.

I thought this box was ok. It did not have the WOW factor other Boxycharm boxes had in the past several months, mostly because of the shade/color issues. I think I got a great deal though and I'm especially happy to try the serum. The total value of the box is $111.95!!!
Do you have a Boxycharm subscription? What are your favorite items you have received so far?

Ipsy Octover 2014 Review

My second Ipsy bag finally arrived. Ipsy subscription is one of the cheapest out there. It's only $10.00 and for that price you get one new makeup bag packed with 5 samples.

I love this month's makeup bag. I like the teal color a lot.

My samples this month were:

Ayres Body Butter with essential oils - jasmine and rosemary. Great scent and nice texture.

Indie Lee Brightening Cleanser - I have not had a chance to try it yet. The sample is big enough for maybe three uses, so I'm sure I will have more feedback after testing it out.

Nicole by OPI nailpolish in "On a Gilt Trip" shade. I love the golden shade for fall/winter. I really like getting nail polish in my subscription boxes and Nicole/OPI  is one of my favorite brands.

Noyah Lipstick "Deeply in Mauve" shade- The shade was a total miss for me. I don't think I will ever wear it. I like more natural and lighter colors.

Skone Tattooes Eyeliner  - It's full size eyeliner and it retails for $15.00, so just this eyeliner paid for the subscription itself. However, I do not wear a lot of eyeliners. This will be shipped to my sister who likes eyeliner. I'm sure she will appreciate it more.

I think the bag was totally worth the $10.00 I paid. I love the nail polish, will definitely use the body butter and the makeup bag, so it was a good month for me.

Glossybox October 2014 Review

My Glossybox subscription arrived earlier than expected this month. I actually received my September box in the beginning of October, so  was really surprised October was shipped already.
Glossybox subscription is $21.00 but you can save a little by purchasing 6 month subscription.
For that amount you get five surprise luxury products. I'm always impressed with their packaging. It feels like am actually getting a present every month. I like reusing their boxes too.

Here is this month's box.

I have had a lot of hits and misses with lip color in subscription boxes. This shade is something I can actually wear on everyday basis. I love how it feels on my lips - you can smell nice minty scent and feel a very pleasant refreshing and cooling sensation on your lips. The product contains vitamins, shea butter and mint and does not require a sharpener. Total win for me.

I color my hair so this is great to try out. It has amazing reviews online and I hope I will like it as well. It has very nice smell.

I don't know if matte is in right now but I'm somehow not convinced to rock matte nails just yet. I will test it and see for myself, but I do like my nail polish to be glossy.

The perfume comes in beautiful packaging. It's flowery but not too overpowering. The sample is big enough for me to try it out with different occasions and see if it's something for me.

I love getting to try face masks and creating my at-home spa sessions. This one is supposed to detox your skin after a long day and calm it. It contains cucumber extracts, green tea and marigold. I'm excited to try it.

There was also a bonus item this month - $40.00 coupon for hellofresh.com subscription box. I checked it out online and it looks like you get a recipe and fresh ingredients to make the recipe. It looks interesting enough to try it once.

Overall I was really happy with the box. I got some really great items that I'm sure I will use. The total value of the box is $60.99 and I'm not counting the $40.00 coupon. Good value for the $21.00 I spent. If you want to check out Glossybox, click here
