Fix # 7 Review

I have been doing Stitch Fix for a while now but did not do any reviews. I figured it's time for another one. If you have not heard about it, Stitch Fix offers styling service and sends you 5 hand picked clothing items that fits the style profile you created. The styling fee is $20.00 but if you keep anything from your fix, you can apply it toward the price of the item you are keeping. If you keep all 5 items, you get a 25% discount.

For fixes 2-5 I had the same stylist and I felt like she got my style and she read my comments every month and tried to send the items I requested or similar. The last two fixes I got different stylist and I am not sure I like it.

Here is what I got for fix # 7. I asked for mainly work clothes, especially bottoms.

At first glance, I really liked the mixture of colors and patterns.

MARGARET M Emer Printed Cropped Straight Leg Pant
I own a pair of black cropped Emers I received in my second fix and I wear them a lot. I was really excited to get a patterned pair. I was a little surprised because these fit much tighter than the black ones. Also, winter is coming to Windy City, so I'm not sure how long I'd be able to wear them before I freeze to death. I'm still unsure if I'm returning it or not.  UNDECIDED

41 HAWTHORN Leone Dress
This was supposed to be a dress for work. I do not think so. It's much shorter than I like for work and when I raised my hands I could see way more than appropriate for work. Plus the boobage peek-a-boo was not what I normally do for work....
I really liked the color combo and the general idea of the dress but I wish it hit me at the knee at least. RETURNING

PAPERMOON Etsie Dress
This dress looked so promising for work. It had appropriate length and color was so cute. However, it fit very strangely in the chest area, you can see a large part of my bra and I can't even think of what kind of bra I would need to wear to pull it off. I thought of keeping it and wearing with a cardi but I can't justify buying a piece of clothing that can't be worn on its own. RETURNING

MARGARET M Christiana Pencil Skirt
I asked for pencil skirts and I got this one. I loved the color and pattern, but I felt like the fit was not very forgiving. The fabric is pretty thin and stretches well so all my lumps and imperfections were clearly on display. I think I need to stick to more structured pencil skirts. I also thought it was not worth the $78 price tag.  RETURNING

GILLI Kelsey Skirt
At first I thought the pattern was really cute. I was not impressed with quality or fit. I felt like it was making strange noises when I was putting it on. The inside of the skirt had all kinds of threads showing and I just did not want to spend money on something with that poor quality. I'm really surprised though because I do own several pieces from Gilli and I like them a lot.  RETURNING

So after several successful fixes this one might be 0/5 or 1/5 if I decide what to do with the Emers. If I return everything, I will lose the styling fee but I'm ok with it. I'd rather keep something I love than keep something just so I don't lose the fee. Hopefully I can get my old stylist back and get back on track with more successful fixes.
