Birchbox August 2014

This is my second months with Birchbox. For $10.00 you get  a box of four to five carefully selected samples of makeup, or other beauty related products on a monthly basis. These products include skincare items, perfumes, organic based products and various other high-end cosmetics.

My box this month looked  had the following samples:

theBalm Cosmetics Staniac  ($2.00)

It gave my lips very nice and natural red tint. I really liked it and may be buying the fulls size. 

 Ojon Rare Blend Moisture Therapy ($1.60) 

I feel like my hair is where I put least of my attention and I'm trying to change it. I was excited to try this product. I will be testing it this week. 

Vasanti Brighten Up! Face Rejuvenator ($5.70)

I love getting skin care products and this sample is  big enough for me to test it for a week or so. It has really great reviews and great ingredients. 

Marcelle Golden Glow BB Cream ($4.70)

BB creams are great for summer and I like getting them for testing. The shade of this one was perfect for my skin even though I was a little worried it would be too dark at first. I put it on today for the first time and I'll see how well it wears.  

Jasmine Seven Fresh Feet Wipes for Kids  ($4.89)

When I saw the wipes in my box I started laughing. I recently had a lot of unpleasant experiences with my 10-year-old daughter's stinky feet. She likes to wear shoes without socks in the summer and it's never a good idea. She also plays a lot of sports and remains active and these wipes are great to have in your purse. In fact, when my daughter saw them, she stole them from me right away. 

The total value of this months box was $18.89, which is not too bad for the $10.00 spent on it. I was happy to try some new products. I liked all of the items in the box and I did not really dislike any of them. 

Boxycharm August 2014

This is my second month with Boxycharm and I like getting great quality makeup from them.

I love, love, love this box. 

One of the items I was really excited for was the Morphe Powder Brush ($19.00)

I have been looking for a good makeup brush but wasn't sure which one to get so this box solved my problem. The brush is so soft and it's perfect for my Stila Finishing Powder. I have been using it every day and I absolutely love it. 

Tarina Tarantino Lip Sheen ($22.00) I have never used much lipstick but this summer I have been experimenting with various colors. This Tarina Tarantino lipstick looks so luxurious! The packaging itself was very fancy and the lipstick packaging is quite. The color I got was Showroom, which was not what I would have picked for myself, but I'm going to keep it because I like how natural it looks on me. Overall I really like this product and I'm happy I got to try it as I would have never bought it for myself 

Model Co Cheek and Lip tint full size ($22.00)

This is a nice, versatile product. I used it on my lips and it made them look naturally red and I really liked it. I am curious how it works for cheeks. I'll try that next time. 

I was really excited to see the Enter Pronoun Bronzer ($35.00) in the box. I'm running out of my bronzer, so the timing for a new one was perfect. At first I thought that the shade was going to be to dark, but it was actually really nice. 

Last item was the Ofra Lipliner ($13.00)  in a shade called Silk. I do not use lip liners much, so it will be passed on to someone else. 

This was a really great box. I liked everything a lot, except the lip liner. The total value of the box $98.00

I paid only $21.00, so I feel like I hit a jackpot with this one. 

GlossyBox August 2014

I just got back from vacation and I was very happy to see the Glossybox delivery at my door. Kryolan Highlighter. 4.5g ($18.95)

It's very creamy and feels nice on your skin. It leaves really nice and discreet gloss on your skin and is not too sparkly or overwhelmingly shiny. I really like it and will be using it this summer a lot. Too bad summer is coming to an end. 

Sparitual nail polish 15 ml - full size ($12.00)

I never have enough of nail polish and I love fun summer colors. I received a very nice pink, which was almost neon pink in real life. I will definitely be using this until fall comes. I took a picture of my nail polish at work. 

Eyeko eyeliner Mini size. I could not find how big the full size is, but I think the mini is about half of the full size. ($8.00)

As I don't use eyeliners much, I will be shipping this one to my sister in Europe. She likes eyeliners and will be happy to receive this one. 

Uberliss Hydrating Shampoo  2 oz ($4.00) 

I used it today. It does not create a lot of lather, which was a little hard to wash my longer hair and I had to use a lot of it, but it's supposed to be all natural and I will see how my hair feel when it dries. 

Uberliss Hydrating Conditioner 2 oz ($4.40) 

Also used it today and it was a little more efficient than the shampoo. Looking forward to seeing the results later today. 

Eslor Day Firming Cream 10 ml ($17.00) 

I tried it today and it feels really nice on my skin. I will use it every day this week to see what effects I get. The scent I was not very crazy about. It smells kind of like old fashioned creams from years ago. I remember some cheap creams my mom used to buy that smelled similarly. 

I thought this box was nice. My favorites were the nailpolish and the highliter. I paid $21.00 for the box and got $64.35 worth of products. No the best value I have seen, but it's still good.

Glossbox July 2014

Glam Glow Youthmud exfoliating treatment 0.5 oz sample valued at $16.15

The full size product retails at $68.00 and I probably would have never bought it, so I was excited to try it. The mask is a lot different than other mud masks I used. It contains some bits and pieces and it looks kind of funny at first but the mask itself worked really well. Unfortunately I probably will not be buying it because of the price tag. 

MALIN + GOETZ Mojito lip balm Full size $12.00 

I really love this balm. My daughter stole it from me but i took it back because I could not part with it. 

Philip B. pH Restorative Detangling toning Mist 

You can buy it in different sizes. 125 ml bottle costs $24.00. My sample was 60 ml, so I would estimate the value at $10.00 

I usually don't get very excited about hair products. I'm not overly focused on my hair and mostly just use shampoo and conditioner. When I tried using this detangling mist at first I was kind of put off by the smell of it. It contains apple cider vinegar and you could totally smell it. I sprayed it on my wet hair and let it dry. My hair was amazingly soft when it dried out! I could not believe the difference this product made and I fell in love with it. I definitely will be buying this in full size because it's really a great product. 

Mitchell and Peach Body Cream 

Full size 180 ml retails at $67.40, my sample was 40 ml, so estimated value at $15.00 

This body cream is amazing.It moisturizes very well and smells very nice. I'm glad I got to try it. 

Skin Inc Custom Blended Brightening Serum Holy cow this stuff is expensive! The 30 ml bottle retails at $135.00. My sample was 10 ml, so estimated value would be $45.00!!! I have not tried it yet but I have read the reviews and it's supposed to work really well. I'm really excited to try this. 

I thought this box was great. A lot of great products to try. I paid $21.00 for the box and got $98.5 worth of products!! This is an amazing deal.  

Birchbox July 2014

This month was the first month of my Birchbox subscription. You can order your own box here.

My July 2014 samples are:

Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream. Full size 15ml retails for $38.00 and my sample was 7 ml, so it would be valued at about $19.00. The size is great and will allow me to try it for a good amount of time.

Real Chemistry Luminous 3-minute peel Full size 1.7 oz retails for $48.00, my sample was .17, so approximately $4.80. I'm excited to try it as it has pretty good reviews.

Wish Shave Cream Full size is 150 ml and retails at $20.00, my sample was 22 ml (0.75oz) which I value at about $3.00. I haven't really tried shaving creams like this but it smells good so I will definitely try it out.

Coastal Scents Revealed eye shadow palette sampler  The full palette retails at $34.00. I really liked the colors in my sample and I'm definitely going to use them a lot.

100% Gingerade Shower Gel Full size of 13 oz retails for $13.00 I have not tried it yet, but I will take it on my upcoming trip.

This month's box also contained a one year subscription to Women's Health magazine. Since I'm all about living a healthy lifestyle, this magazine is a perfect fit for me.

Last item was a little Power Up booklet with 12 small beauty and fitness challenges. You can do all of them and tag your pictures for a chance to win a collection of July 2014 Birchbox products plus a trip to NYC!

This was a god box. I feel like just the magazine made it worth the $10.00 for me and the rest was a nice extra stuff to pamper myself fit.

FabFitFun Box Summer 2014

I just got my first ever Fab Fit Fun Box. The boxes are being sent once per quarter and this is the Summer box containing a variety of products from makeup to snacks.

Here I the items for the Summer Box. The cost of my summer box was $34.00. Usually it cost $49.00 for the quarter, but I used some coupon magic and got a really great deal on my first box.

I really liked the Thursday Friday cosmetic bag. I found it online on sale for $28.00 

I have never heard of this brand, but I checked their website out and really like some of the totes. 

The Fab Fit Fun Box included a $30.00 coupon to use on there, so I might be shopping for some totes pretty soon. 

There were some snacks in the box as well, one of them was a 0.8 oz bag of Popchips. Perfect size for a school snack for my daughter. I would estimate the value at $1.30

Another snack was a Slim Fast Protein Meal Bar Have Your Cake flavor. I like having stuff like that around for emergency meals that do not ruin my healthy lifestyle. Value of the bar estimated at $1.00

The next item was Sonia Dakar Flash Facial Full size (1 oz) that retails for $95.00!! I was extremely excited to try this as I would have never shelled out that amount of money for a facial product. 

The facial is supposed to be great for all skin types and bring immediate results in just a minute. I tried using it right away and saw some results at first use - my dead skin was peeling off nicely. I am going to use it for a week to see how well it really works on the longer run. 

There was something for the hair as well Balanced Guru No frizz Oil Full Size 1oz. It retails for $25.00

I have not tried it yet, but I'm looking forward to trying it. 

Next there are some Always Xtra protection liners 12 ct estimated value at $2.00 (24 ct box retails for $4.00). This item is something that's always needed so even though I'm not overly excited about it, I will certainly use it. 

I always love getting nail polishes. I think I might a mild nail polish addiction. This one I got from Zoya is a very pretty color for summer called MAYA. The nail polish retails at $9.00 and I'l definitely be using it this summer. 

Next there is a set of two lip balms from KISSTIXX. The theme is Fire and Ice. One balm is Cinnamon Flavor and the other is Vanilla. They retail at $5.99 They have SPF 15 which is really nice for summer. 

Skintimate Shaving gel is something I definitely will use, so it was nice to see a smaller size 2.75 oz container. I will be travelling soon, so it's going to be perfect to take with me. Retail price $1.50

Purlisse moisturizer is something I was very excited to see in this box. I got one in another box and I really liked it. It's very lightweight and smells nice. Perfect for summer. Full size 1.7 oz .It has SPF 30 and it retails at $55.00 although you can find it online for abut half the price. 

And finally the Fab Fit Fun infuser bottle. I could not find the exact one but similar ones retail at about $15.00. I have been thinking about ways of making my water more exciting, so thins came at a perfect time. I already put it to use and put some strawberries in it. 

The total value of the box is about $240, which is a great value for only $34 I paid for it. I'm definitely keeping my subscription and looking forward to my Fall box of fun.
